Fatima Dincsoy - 'Crossing the Line'
Submission Theme: For my short story, I concentrated on the issue of traffic, which is a verypresent one in Bahrain. We all deal with the various traffic complicationsin this country, and we are all affected by the results of neglectfulplanning, incomplete driver training and poor enforcement of laws indifferent ways. I would like to raise awareness of these issues -hopefullyresulting in valuable change- as well as present the good-natured and kindcharacter of the Bahraini people. It is a story of dreams, of goodintentions, and of loss.

Submission Theme: The geniality of the people of Bahrain is infectious.Their compassion for fellow human beings, of all nationalities, iscertainly stirring. How else can one explain thepeaceful and friendly coexistence of various nationalities on itssoil? Through the following passages I pay my tribute to Bahrain’sgreatest asset – its people, whose greatness I will cherish forever.

Reflected sunlight from thesparkling blue water of the shallow sea and the yellow sand beneathit, melded like primary colours on an artist’s palette to lend abrilliant emerald hue to the aquatic expanse.
