As well as national governments, we have worked with many major corporate businesses such as Cunard (on the masterplan and refurbishment of the QEII), Lucent Technologies (creating an award-winning and ground-breaking visitor centre) and PCCW (a new visitor centre to promote Hong Kong’s exciting Cyberport development).
Examples of work for museums include the Field Museum of Chicago, where MET were the first outside consultancy the museum had ever employed. We were brought in to create a permanent exhibition called ‘Underground Adventure’, which tackled the complex subject of soil – and made it interesting and enjoyable! Nearer to home, ‘Wired Worlds’ at Bradford’s National Museum of Photography, Film & Television, was the UK’s first exhibition looking at the subject of digital media and, in 2000, was judged to be the best design of any kind in the UK when it won the ‘Best of Show’ Award at that year’s Design Week Awards. Recent projects completed include the award winning Hong Kong Wetlands Park where we were both masterplanners and lead designers of Hong Kong’s first ever dedicated environmental attraction since 2001. It became the world’s largest eco-park when it opened in 2006. At Edinburgh Zoo we designed and built the Budongo Trail, an award winning world class Chimpanzee enclosure which opened this year and designed Fusion World, a showcase suite for the Singapore government’s technology R&D organization A*Star. This exhibit focuses on their latest technological innovations from home entertainment to medical breakthroughs.
