The firm began by competing in public and private competitions, both national and international, wining prizes and distinctions. This is the foundation for the fi rm’s development in various areas of work, especially those in public building, offi ces, educational buildings, high-rise living and libraries, among others. In a building declared a national monument, the Santiago Library has given rise to a great open space and cultural center for the city, where its citizens can meet and interact. Another interior plaza, excavated to be more intimate and protected from the busy activity of the street, is perfect for being in the open air or for more controlled events. The interior structure has been reconfi gured to create new spatial confi gurations which correspond with the new character and more importantly, bring new illumination into the buildings. The project is part of the new model of library, an active space to carry out a great educational initiative.
