Remain Competitive

Digital TV is about more than just the set-top box. And Pace is much more than a set-top box developer. The traditional broadcast model of operators controlling what people can watch, and when, is fast disappearing. Now the viewer is taking charge. Digital TV providers are finding they must respond to a multitude of demands from consumers – from wanting the best quality pictures and sound to being able to control how they receive, watch and distribute their content – in order to remain competitive.

Customers at the Heart of the Business

At Pace we put our customers at the heart of our business and we understand how to match consumer demand to operator business models. This means being expert in the core elements of digital TV, such as high definition and personal video recorders, and all platforms, including cable, satellite, terrestrial and IPTV. As digital TV services become mainstream across the globe, we look at the next stage of development, generating solutions for the distribution and use of digital TV throughout the home – moving from the static one-room model to a flexible entertainment network.

Innovative Solutions

Pace

As the consumer is becoming more demanding about getting what they want, when they want and where they want, we are busy developing innovative solutions that enable content to be viewed and accessed on the move – both securely and easily. Building on our experience in delivering digital TV services, we are developing new ways of providing advanced digital services, such as high-speed internet, Video-On-Demand (VOD), Pay-Per-View (PPV), high definition (HD) and personal video recorder (PVR) whole home technology to consumers.

Our History

Pace

Pace started out in 1982 and spent five years as modem developers before making the transition into television, where we developed the analogue set-top boxes that launched the first payTV television services across the globe. We moved into digital services in 1995. At each stage of our development we have striven to lead technological development in the marketplace. As a result, we can claim a number of industry firsts along our way, including the first digital satellite set-top boxes in the UK, the first satellite personal video recorder (PVR) in Europe and the first ever high definition set-top box to meet the H.264 DVB-S2 standard.

Leading Operators

In 2008 we acquired the set-top box division of Philips, significantly increasing the size of the company and customer portfolio. The cornerstone of our success is down to a powerful mix of innovative thinking, technological expertise and industry foresight. We have remained at the forefront of this industry by hiring the best people, making the right decisions and believing in our abilities. It is as a result we have been the launch partner for more than 20 payTV services worldwide and we work with the leading operators across the world.
