The first Mauritian mountain (trail) running

ROYAL RAID
Royal Raid is the first Mauritian mountain (trail) running which leads you in the heart of the island and make you discover unforgettable tropical sceneries; discovery of the people, emotion and passion with local and international participants, in a marvelous friendship atmosphere! Royal Raid consists of two races 80kms & 35kms being held simultaneously: The start of the RR 80 is at Yemen Nature Reserve on the West coast of Mauritius. The track is undulating with steep slopes, on a dry and hot ground before entering the Black River National Park, a beautiful forest with rare tropical plants and species: The famous slope called Parakeet peeks at an altitude of 720m after climbing 5km of straight path. The finish line is situated next to the resort hotels in the South. The start of the RR35 is at Pétrin situated in the National Park. The first part is on a plateau around the Mare Longue Dam with breathtaking views on the tropical forest and the west coast before going downhill to reach the famous path of Parakeet. The finish line is situated next to the resort hotels in the South.

Magical coastal roads of Mauritius

ROYAL RAID

La Regatta is a unique event being held in traditional Mauritian wooden boats called “Pirogue”. The event takes place in the legendary bay of Mahébourg (south east of Mauritius), Pointe d’Esny and around Ile aux Aigrettes which shelters endangered species. Each ‘’pirogue’’ is composed of 7 crew members and 2 skippers. The winning team with the least points on the six regattas wins the bronze trophy of La Regatta.

Live Chazal, Celebrate Life
Play, Taste, Embrace
Tucked away in the middle of the green hills of the south of Mauritius, you will find a real haven of peace, a marvelous garden called CHAZAL. Over there, everything is beautiful, everything is harmony… The host can choose different ecotourism activities: The zip-lines trekking, the river trekking, walks in the hunting reserve… or relax, just enjoy calm and bird’s songs. At Chazal we won’t forget the greedies. For lunch, at the “Table d’hotes” we serve the best Mauritian recipes prepared with fresh seasonal vegetables from the garden! And as the famous Mauritian poet, Robert Edouard Hart wrote (about Mauritius) – we use back his words about CHAZAL – “Here I am myself and as I want it to be”.
