World Class Healthcare

To provide access to world class health care for both Egyptian and international communities in Egypt and the Middle East is why Dar Al Fouad Hospital exists.

Dar Al Fouad Hospital, Egypt

Fouad’s promise to its patients is to provide them with a level of care and service that matches the highest world standards in a professional and friendly environment. This agreement also allows the CCF to participate in Dar Al Fouad’s Board of Directors as a partner and shareholder. It is the first time that the Cleveland Clinic Foundation has ever collaborated with a private hospital outside the United States of America.

Dar Al Fouad has also signed an agreement with the Operations Abroad Company in the United Kingdom in order to treat British patients who have been on the waiting list of the National Health System (N.H.S.) in the U.K. The hospital has several departments, each with a different specialisation, including the Surgical, Critical Care, Transplant, Non-Surgical, and Endoscopy departments, as well as other departments and services like Emergency and Radiology.

Dar Al Fouad is located in the tourist area of 6th of October City, which is twenty minutes from Cairo’s city centre, and is built on land elevated higher than the rest of Cairo. The project was built with plenty of green space and open areas to ensure fresh air and a relaxing atmosphere for patient recovery. The entire building, which is on three floors, is centrally air-conditioned and offers a current capacity of 141 beds.

The hospital offers a variety of rooms to suit the needs of all patients, equipped with every modern comfort as well as a full range of medical and nursing equipment and capabilities. In addition, one of the great strengths of Dar Al Fouad Hospital is the level of care provided in the critical care areas. For convenience, the luxury Hotel Novotel is connected to the hospital, where it offers attractive rooms and elegant suites for patients and patients' companions who need to be close to the hospital.

Dar Al Fouad is proud to be the first hospital in Egypt and Africa, and the 59th hospital worldwide, to receive international accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), which is a subsidiary of the most trusted name in accreditation - the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organisations. JCI standards set uniform, achievable expectations for structures, processes, and outcomes for hospitals. Standards are organised around important functions, and the focus is on patients. This accreditation has endorsed our commitment to make health care better, cheaper, faster, and most importantly, safer.

Management and medical expertise were sourced from the most renowned national and international medical organizations, which enabled Dar Al Fouad to provide its patients with the optimum quality and skills in surgical procedures, medical care and management, as well as pre- and post-operative nursing. The hospital’s affiliation with world recognized medical institutions ensures that these services not only meet today’s world class healthcare standards, but that there is also a continuous and ongoing update in all fields of hospital management, standard of equipment, as well as professional excellence and skill.

Dar Al Fouad Hospital is the first private hospital in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East to perform successful living related liver transplantation surgery. It has participated in a program with the liver transplantation team in Japan’s Kyoto University, headed by Professor Kiochi Tanaka, who is considered the father of living related liver transplantation in the world.

In 1999, a collaboration agreement was signed between Dar Al Fouad Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF), which has been ranked in the top five hospitals in the United States in the fields of Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery for more than ten consecutive years. This agreement ensures continuous technical, medical and administrative support provided by the Cleveland Clinic, as well as extensive exchange programs for training physicians and administrative personnel.
