Archipelago Singapore

Savour the quality

Originally established in 1931 in Singapore, Archipelago Brewery was the first commercial brewery to be set up in Singapore and became renowned for its techniques and quality products. However, after being annexed by the British Government in 1939, the brewery was sold to Malayan Breweries in 1941 and disappeared from the beer drinkers’ radar.

In 2006, Archipelago Brewery reopened its doors, bringing the best brewing traditions from the West and the finest Eastern spices together again to create bespoke craft beers for the discerning drinker.

Each Archipelago beer is hand-crafted in small batches using traditional methods and the very finest ingredients. A range of signature tastes created by the resident brewmaster is another key factor that sets Archipelago apart from the pack.

Award-winning brewmaster Fal Allen spends countless hours exploring Asian culture and cuisine, scouring markets in Chinatown, Geylang and Little India in his quest for the perfect flavours for beers to complement Singapore’s diverse cuisine.

Archipelago Trader’s Brown Ale, with a distinct taste of gula melaka, goes down well with robust flavours like roast meats and rice dumplings. Archipelago Traveller’s Wheat uses a unique blend of lemon grass and tamarind and is the perfect accompaniment for sour and spicy dishes such as Thai Vermicelli Salad. Archipelago Straits Pale is a wheat beer that complements curries and Singapore’s famous Laksa with consummate ease.

With its rich coffee flavour and creamy taste, Archipelago Java is well suited to everything from cheese to chocolate. Commemorative birthday brew, Archipelago Samui, has distinctive flavours of calamansi lime and pandan leaf - perfect with pizzas. Completing the Archipelago family, Archipelago Explorer has more than a hint of Anise, making it ideal when paired with good friends and conversation.

Archipelago’s range of speciality brews are available at numerous quality bars across Singapore (as well as flagship outlets Archipelago at Circular Road and The Straits at Pekin Street). For those who enjoy savouring craft beers in the comfort of their own home, a selection of Archipelago beers are also available at all Carrefour, Jason’s Marketplace, Cold Storage and Giant outlets island-wide.
