World Class Education, World Class Students

EIS’s mission is to provide each student with opportunities to reach their full potential as lifelong learners in a holistic, challenging and supportive learning environment that will ultimately prepare them to be active and responsible global citizens in a multicultural world.

Holistic Curriculum

At EIS the administrators and teachers share a common goal, which is to ensure that students harness their full potential and effectively apply their knowledge, skills and abilities in each subject. EIS aims to develop students holistically through a balanced curriculum based on international best practices.

EIS is in the process of implementing the IBO/PYP programme for students from Kindergarten to Grade 5. The IB/ PYP Programme is an international transdisciplinary programme designed to foster the development of the whole child, not just in the classroom but through other means of learning. PYP focuses on the total growth of the developing child, encompassing social, physical, emotional and cultural needs in addition to academic welfare.

The EIS Lower Middle School curriculum in Grades 6 to 8 is based on the best local and international practices where communication skills, confi dence building and understanding of the global environment and its challenges are emphasised. The CIE Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme (CLSP) for English, Mathematics and Science, modeled upon the English and Singapore National Curricula provides an additional framework for the Lower Middle School curriculum. Subject curricula in Grades 9 & 10 lead to CIE IGCSE examinations at the end of Grade 10.

'The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds. It develops successful students, giving them excellent preparation for their next steps in education, and equips them with skills for immediate employment. Cambridge IGCSE is recognised by universities and employers worldwide. Students in Grades 11 & 12 follow subject courses from the IB Diploma Programme, a challenging two-year curriculum, primarily aimed at students aged 16 to 19. It leads to a qualification that is widely recognised by the world’s leading universities.

Accreditations and Credibility

EIS is an authorised school for the IBO Diploma Program. We are also a Candidate School for the IB PYP (Primary Years Program). In addition, we are a Cambridge International Examination Board Center (CIE) and a regular member of the Council of International Schools (CIS). As a further validation of our credibility and accountability, our school is a candidate school for the accreditation program with the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Rest assured that your child will receive the best, world class education, at a reasonable tuition fee.

Respect and Care

EIS parents have commended EIS for creating a nurturing environment in which individuals are taught to respect themselves, as well as others. In addition, students are encouraged to have respect for the environment and to make decisions as responsible citizens of his/her local and worldwide community.

Truly International

In a globalised world there is increased need for people to be able to interact across various geographies, economies, and cultures. At EIS, emphasis is not just on creating a challenging academic environment, but also on developing students’ responsibility as internationally minded individuals. EIS’s 400-strong student population comprises young people from fifty nations learning to develop their crosscultural understanding, acceptance and appreciation.

Individual Attention

We believe that each student is a unique and special individual deserving attention and care and we develop programmes in which the individual needs, abilities, and interests of the child are met. As educators, we believe that our responsibility is to help each student maximise his or her potential. Our curriculum does not concentrate solely on academic achievements, but also on the physical, emotional and social development needs of children. There is considerable emphasis on developing students’ critical thinking, understanding and problem-solving abilities.
