For the avid golfer, nothing in Singapore offers quite the same experience as the Sentosa Golf Club, home to two beautiful and challenging courses – Serapong and Tanjong.
Serapong, which is one of the top five championship courses in Asia, has gained much international acclaim as the venue host for the prestigious Barclays Singapore Open.
At the Barclays Singapore Open in 2007, the Sentosa Golf Club welcomed Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, Angel Cabrera and three-time Major winner Ernie Els. Other golfing stars included Lee Westwood, Nick O’Hern, K J Choi and Darren Clarke. Serapong has also seen some of Asia’s giants—Thaworn Wiratchant, Thongchai Jaidee, Jyoti Randhawa and JeevMilkha Singh—battle it out on the Par-71 course. Created by renowned golf course designer Ronald Fream, the course was redesigned in 2007 by golf course architect Gene Bates.
The friendlier Tanjong course features natural hazards, freshwater lakes, towering trees, mounds and bunkers as well as undulating fairways with narrow landing areas. The spectacular Tanjong course is well-known for its stunning backdrop of the South China Sea. Its signature Hole 2 boasts a very scenic Par 3 which is one of the most photographed holes in the region.
Adding to the attractiveness of the club are the excellent gourmet dining options available at the club. The highly regarded Nogawa Restarant serves excellent Japanese cuisine while the award-winning il Lido restaurant is well-known for its gourmet Italian cuisine. Golfers rushing to their tees can enjoy a quick meal during lunch at the Golfers’ Terrace which serves up delicious local and Asian meals. All the food and beverage outlets at the club are open to the public as well.
The club also has excellent meeting and banquet facilities. There are over 10 meeting and function rooms with varying seating capacities to suit every occasion. The beautiful green surroundings of the club naturally make it a popular venue for weddings, birthday parties or anniversaries.
Great golf, excellent food and an abundance of nature. For all these reasons, Sentosa Golf Club is undeniably one of the most sought-after clubs in Singapore.
