Fun Festivals at Sentosa

Singapore’s popular island resort draws throngs of leisure-seekers with an exciting array of themed attractions, award-winning spa retreats, lush rainforests, golden sandy beaches, resort accommodations, worldrenowned golf courses, a deepwater yachting marina and luxurious residences. Sentosa Spooktacular

Trick or treat? How about both tricks and treats? Sentosa has embraced Halloween with the Sentosa Spooktacular, a frighteningly fun event for young and old alike. Taking the American concept of Halloween and merging it with a traditional Asian flavour, Sentosa Spooktacular is Singapore’s largest Asianthemed Halloween event promising an evening of hijinks and high spirits. Barclays Singapore Open

The Barclays Singapore Open is “Asia’s Major” golfing tournament held at the Sentosa Golf Club. The championship is played over the club’s two courses – The Serapong and The Tanjong – and is cosanctioned by the European and Asian Tours. It is also one of the richer purses in Asia, with a prize purse of US$6 million. Last year, the Barclays Singapore Open was won by Australian Adam Scott, who finished three shots ahead of Anders Hansen of Denmark. The Barclays Singapore Open is easily the top event on the local golfing calendar and a must-attend for anyone who wants to watch some of the world’s top golfers do battle on the green. Sentosa Buskers Festival

The Sentosa Buskers Festival is a new annual event that brings world-class street acts to the island. The inaugural festival was held in 2010 and featured Guinness World Records holder football juggler Victor Rubilar, Rani Huszar, possibly the world’s most flexible woman and Alan Star, martial artist and fire juggler. Dynamic, fun and entertaining, the Sentosa Buskers Festival is a true celebration of street performance. When to see it in 2011: September

Siloso Beach Party

Every 31 December, Singapore’s hippest beach is the scene for Singapore’s coolest New Year’s Eve party. The Siloso Beach Party is the country’s biggest countdown party by the beach and boasts a line-up of international DJs spinning the latest dance tunes. Apart from the non-stop pulsating music, there is a wide spread of food and drink as well as fringe performances and even pyrotechnics. There is no better way to ring in the New Year!
