Siloso Beach Resort, Singapore

Bliss in the Tropics

Your search for a haven of nature and luxury ends at Sentosa island’s Siloso Beach Resort. A small forested path leads to 12 exquisitely designed villas surrounded by lush rainforest, just minutes from the beach. Once you enter the grounds of each villa, the outside world melts away behind you.

The villas are thoughtfully integrated into the landscape, with natural materials that don’t compromise on comfort. From the timbered deck outside, watch squirrels scamper up towering trees, then head inside for the ultra-modern facilities of each villa, which include flat screen televisions and enormous four-poster beds swathed in romantic airy cotton.

The star attraction of the villas is the outdoor Jacuzzis. Wide and long enough to comfortably fit two people side-by-side, the Jacuzzi is surrounded on all sides by high walls and trees so that you can

relax under the stars and tree canopy while enjoying complete privacy. Rest on the gently sculptured seats while water jets massage your back and legs. Then once the jets are off, float dreamily on the warm water. The resort has one- and two-bedroom villas, including the spectacular two bedroom villa with swimming pool.

This villa is often booked as a conference room for small groups because of the size and its exclusiveness. Couples looking for a place to celebrate their vows with family and friends in a private ceremony, with the promise of a romantic wedding night, choose this villa too.

Spectacular Views

Siloso Beach Resort also offers a range of rooms with spectacular views of the South China Sea. The best view is from the roof-top terrace, popular for functions and private events because of the dramatic sunsets and excellent hotel service. At other times, guests are welcome to gaze at the panoramic view of the lush greenery, the white sands and calm waters that surround Siloso Beach Resort.

The hotel’s spectacular cascading poolside waterfall leads to a 95 m swimming pool, landscaped to be part of the rainforest setting. Tucked in around the undulating pool are small gazebos with hammocks and lounge chairs for long, lazy afternoons in the shade. The hotel’s beachside café serves a wide selection of local and continental favourites in casual dining. After cocktails by the pool, have dinner and people-watch as the beach comes to life after dark.

True To Nature

Siloso Beach Resort does more than look natural; the entire hotel was designed to integrate with the landscape with eco-friendly features. When the resort was built, the developer took great care to preserve all the major trees on the property. The result is trees twining through corridors and pathways built around massive tree trunks. More than 600 trees were lovingly preserved, giving the resort a unique rainforest atmosphere. Even the swimming pool is eco-friendly. It uses water from an underground reservoir, which was once a water source for the island.

This water is only lightly treated so the overflow can safely be used for the small ponds scattered throughout the hotel where water lilies grow and fish swim. All these green initiatives were recognised when the eco-resort was named Top Achiever at the Singapore Environmental Achievement Awards 2010. Siloso Beach Resort is also an eco-hotel certified locally by the Singapore Environment Council, and internationally by TUV Rheinland.

The Siloso Beach Resort is nature twinned with luxury, moments from the beach – the perfect island getaway.
