The awards, described by the Wall Street Journal as the 'Oscars' of the global travel and tourism industry, revealed who are the 'best of the best' in the world.

an award it adds to an already impressive list of accolades collected over the years; such as being voted The World’s Leading Luxury Train for four consecutive years between 1998 and 2001, at the World Travel Awards, as well as Best Passenger Rail Operator at the 2008 Africa Rail Awards.

Accepting the award at the glittering red-carpet event Hanlie Kotze, the Acting Executive Manager of The Blue Train, comments, “We are absolutely delighted and honoured to receive this award. Being named Africa’s Leading Luxury Train earlier this year was a great achievement, but being voted the World’s best is just the “cherry on the cake” and the fact that we were voted by over 180,000 industry professionals – a record on its own – makes it even more special.
