Glass at its Best

It all began in Zwiesel, Germany – a town nestled in the heart of the Bavarian Forest where German glassmaking has flourished since the 15th century.

For more than 135 years, Zwiesel Kristallglas has shown excellence by combining handiwork perfection and state-of-the-art modern technology in glass production. Leading the way in the glassmaking industry, Zwiesel became the first company to discontinue the production of glassware with lead crystal.

Instead, an internationally patented Tritan technology was created to form quality, environmentally friendly crystal glass. What’s special about this technology is that its 100% lead- and barium-free composition makes the glass break- and scratch-resistant even after years of use, creating a highly functional and aesthetically pleasing series that will complement any household, restaurant or bar.

Three brands come under the Zwiesel umbrella – Zwiesel 1872, Schott Zwiesel and Jenaer Glas – offering the full spectrum of divine dining and living culture.

Zwiesel 1872

Taking its name from the historical year where haulier and merchant Anton Mueller founded the company with Tafelglashuette Annathal, the Zwiesel 1872 collection features mouth-blown, handmade crystal class designed for gourmet and everyday use. Created for connoisseurs of wine and elegance, Zwiesel 1872 is crafted in a minimalist design, with each glass, decanter or bar accessory flaunting a sense of individuality.

Schott Zwiesel

As the worldwide market leader for crystal glass used in top-class restaurants and hotels, Schott Zwiesel was created as the glass of professionals to satisfy even the most exacting demands. The brand has risen to the top and ranks among the crème de la crème of the hotel, bar and catering industry. Utilising the Tritan technology, this crystal glassware comes in a variety of shapes, all with timeless design and total functionality.

Jenaer Glas

The stylish epitome of heat-resistant glasswork and a great traditional brand, Jenaer Glas brings you from the kitchen to the table seamlessly, with an abundance of style. Inspired by the Bauhaus movement, Jenaer Glas prides itself on creating uncommonly cold- and heat-resistant and odourand flavour-free glass, which makes it perfect to serve tea in.

A testament to these timeless designs lies in the internationally-renowned Wilhelm Wagenfeld Edition. Built in the 1930s, the series included a tea service with outstanding style and practicality. Decades later, it remains on display in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Design Museum in London.

Together, the three brands offer brilliant options to enhance your everyday life. The art of glassmaking continues to impress as molten glass is perfectly formed into exquisite shapes. Elegant crystal glass accessories are a fitting testament to the crafts of the skillful glass blowers, and a reminder of living beautifully, with pleasure and style.
