Paving the way for global trade with Africa
| The World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) 42nd General assembly was held from 8 – 12 October 2011 at WTC Sao Paulo, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In attendance was the World Trade Center Africa Initiative delegation, which included Julia Steyn (Vice President Finance WTC Africa Initiative), Lunell de Blanche (Vice President Events WTC Africa Initiative) and Sven Boermeester (Media Director Africa WTC Africa Initiative). The delegation took advantage of this opportunity to go to Brazil to promote its region (Africa) in one of the most important emerging markets of the world.
The purpose of this trip for the WTC Africa Initiative delegation was to pave the way for global trade with Africa. The delegation also went with the aim to build strong relationships with more than 200

World Trade Centers around the world that had representatives present at the WTCA General Assembly. The WTC Africa Initiative delegation presented on stage and through a series of high-level matchmaking opportunities - The Future of Trade Africa Expo to these global high-level representatives.
An overwhelmingly positive response was received from the member representatives in attendance and consequently the world is coming to Africa for a series of International Commerce Exchanges.
The WTC Africa Initiative delegation has consequently been invited to present The Future of Trade and the World Trade Center Africa Initiative at the 2012 WTCA Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM 2012) to be held in Beijing from 22 – 24 February 2012. Commissioned by WTCA, APRM 2012 will be jointly hosted by China World Trade Center and World Trade Center Beijing.
