Cape Town wins bid to host major International World Trade Center Conference on 30 May 2012

World Trade Center Cape Town wins bid to host 2012 EMEA regional meeting: The world is coming to Africa!

Exciting news has come out of this week’s World Trade Center EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) regional meeting held in Belgium – the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) has awarded the privilege of hosting the prestigious 2012 EMEA event for World Trade Centers to the World Trade Center Cape Town. This is a massive event to be held from 30 May to 1 June 2012.

Mochron Investments (the owners of The African Initiative of World Trade Centers)  who hold 14 African World Trade Center licences, have the World Trade Center Cape Town as the hub of these World Trade Centers. The honour bestowed on them to host the EMEA event in 2012 is therefore a great opportunity for furthering African trade status. It will allow the African Network of World Trade Centers the chance to engage directly with more than 100 international World Trade Centers and will ultimately see 2000 or more serious international players attending.

The WTCA board was unanimous in its acceptance of the bid and members voted overwhelmingly in World Trade Center Cape Town’s favour. This is an especially great achievement as World Trade Center Cape Town is the only World Trade Center to have received this opportunity within the first year of operation.

In addition, it was announced that Julius Steyn, president of World Trade Center Cape Town, was nominated to be a member of the Audit and Risk committees for the WTCA.

Delegates to the 2012 EMEA event will receive the Best of Africa and Best of South Africa Vol. 7 coffee table books and other GVP worldwide media as the official gift and showcase for Africa and the world. These publications will be featuring a showcase of serious African business.

The recent development and interest in Africa has created an opportunity to attract investor interest in order to ensure its upward and continuous growth. World Trade Center Cape Town and the Best of… books provide the perfect platform for this branding exercise.
